Boat on Massachusetts Bay

30 x 15

Stephanie Jamgochian was born and raised in Santa Barbara to an artist father and a mother who is a professor of art history.  She drew much as a child, but didn't begin painting until 2006.  After taking a class through adult and continuing education, she began to study under Oak Group painter Patricia Chidlaw.

Ms. Jamgochian is particularly interested in the interplay between light and objects and the landscape of the urban environment; areas that are familiar but often overlooked capturing the momentary beauty of everyday places.

She received an award for her work “Boat on the Bay” at the Maritime Museum’s 10th Anniversary Art Show (2010), and has featured work at Westmont College’s Reynolds Gallery (2010), Gallery 113 (2009), the Faulkner Gallery and most recently received an Honorary Mention Award for her work currently on display at the Channing Peake Gallery (2011).

She is a member of the Santa Barbara Art Association and the Goleta Valley Art Association.
