About
Stephanie Jamgochian, native of Santa Barbara, began painting in 2006. She has studied primarily under nationally renowned Oak Group Emeritus painter Patricia Chidlaw. Ms. Jamgochian is particularly interested in the interplay between light and objects and the landscape of the urban environment; areas that are familiar but often overlooked capturing the momentary beauty of everyday places. She works with oil on canvas.
She has received numerous awards for her work including the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum’s 10th Anniversary Art Show (2010), the Santa Barbara Arts Commission’s Santa Barbara Art Roots: Celebrating 60 Years juried show at the Channing Peake Gallery (2011), the Faulkner Gallery/Santa Barbara Art Association Annual Juried Show (2014, 2017) and has featured work at Westmont Ridley-Tree Museum of Art, Gallery 113, the Person Ryan Gallery and art shows in the Santa Barbara area.
She is a member of the Santa Barbara Art Association.
